READ: Bernard Chapters 11 and 14 (see Books)
READ: Narration Guide (from FourDocs)
DUE at 9 a.m.: Script/Textbook 2 (see assignment)
Notes * * *
It may seem backward to hand in your assignment and then study about the proper production of narration and video scripts, but I think you'll learn more this way.
You can begin editing your Shooting 2 video as soon as your script is finished. I'm going to expect your final edit to match (reasonably well) the script that you hand in today.
Resources * * *
- Television Production: Scriptwriting Guidelines -- this is like a whole textbook on one Web page; includes a useful section of abbreviations and jargon used in the video business, e.g. "dolly," POV, "establishing shot," MS.
- Writing to Video (PDF file, 21 KB) -- this one-page handout comes from a lesson for TV news students. You can see plenty of similarities between this and what you are doing. Other TV news lessons are also available.
