Notes * * *
Please come to lab on Monday prepared to work on your portfolio. Bring your sketches, pages, CSS files -- whatever you need to move forward with this important project. I will want to see what you have so far and discuss your design, font choices, palette, etc.
In the two lectures this week, I'll be demonstrating some of the ways movie clip symbols are used in Flash. We'll work with movie clips after Spring Break. It's important that you TAKE GOOD NOTES during these two lectures.
Some of the more important ideas to understand about movie clips:
- What is the relationship of the movie clip timeline to the main movie Timeline?
- Why is the registration point important?
- How is the instance name used in ActionScript?

- This tutorial walks you through how to make a movie clip animation and then put it inside a button symbol: Animated Buttons and the Movie Clip Symbol. It's useful if you want the button to be moving or pulsing, for example.
