Audio 1

Using the audio you gathered during class, edit it to between 60 and 90 seconds. (This is the interview with a fellow student in our class.)

Export a mono MP3 file and upload it to your Plaza Web space. (If your Plaza space is full, delete something.)

E-mail the LINK (not the file) to me by the deadline. Use only the e-mail address shown at left.

To learn how to download Audacity and use it to complete your assignment, get the Super-Fast Guide to Audio Editing (PDF, 236 KB).

We also have Adobe Audition in our labs. You may use that to edit audio (instead of Audacity).

Audio 2

This is the same audio you will be using in your Soundslides 2 assignment. You will use multitrack editing to mix and overlap audio tracks for this assignment.

Here is a guide to editing multitrack in Audacity (PDF, 193 KB).

The length of the edited audio must be between 90 and 120 seconds.

The audio must be well suited to your pictures for Photo 2. (These are due at the same time.)

Together, this audio and those pictures must tell an interesting story about a particular place. (See the Soundslides 2 assignment for details.)

Include some narration (you, yourself, speaking) -- and also include some natural sound and audio from at least one other person who frequents the place. Use what you learned from Ira Glass as you craft this audio.

Use the same instructions given for Audio 1 (above) for formatting the file and turning it in to me.
