The Internet, alphabets, paper, the printing press, photography and the telegraph have all changed not only the ways in which humans communicate but also helped to shape cultures, governments, economies, art and religion. Study the invention and adoption of earlier technologies to understand the way today's communications media are affecting us and our future.
Graduate students may not take this course.
