Your final site or online project -- as described in your top-level
design document and approved by your professor -- is due no later
than Tuesday, 07 Dec 2004.
After 01 Oct, the class does not meet. However, each student still
has obligations to fulfill for the class. They are:
- Make (and keep) at least one individual appointment
with me between 01 Oct and 01 Nov. My office
hours and schedule are online. (To meet with me Tuesday or
Thursday morning, please send me an e-mail at least 24 hours
in advance.)
- Show me each one of your working online page designs for
approval before you build out a full set of pages. You can do this
without meeting face-to-face -- just e-mail the URL to me when each
working page is ready and on your server. (Alternatively, you can
show me any part of your project in a face-to-face meeting in my
office, as you like.)
You should design your own specific timetable for completing your
project, but PLEASE use the one below as a guide so you can finish
on time.
Timetable Example
- 05 Oct - Start building the real site, in Dreamweaver or in
Flash.
- 12 Oct - Show me at least one finished page (for example, a
typical
"main content" page), based on your storyboards or wireframes
from Week 6.
- 19 Oct - Test your navigation design (buttons, menus, etc.) on
an 800 x 600 screen and on high-res screens (you are testing the
fit and appearance). Have you had a meeting with me yet?
- 26 Oct - Complete the home page, or first screen of the presentation
(show it to me).
- 02 Nov - Get all your navigation controls (buttons, menus, etc.)
working flawlessly (show them to me: Post them online and send
me an e-mail to let me know they are ready).
- 09 Nov - Finish the live, working prototype screen(s) for any
screen designs you have not built yet (show them to me).
- 16 Nov - Begin building any features not yet started; revise
goals if necessary (and let me know if anything must be changed).
- 23 Nov - Populate the screens (build content); test the site
with your friends. Send me a URL for
the live home page or top screen.
- 30 Nov - Test the working site live on your server and adjust
as needed.
- 07 Dec - Hand in project on a CD (unless I have approved another
medium).
If you have any questions about the contents of this page,
I expect you to ask me for clarification.
